Position: Shop / Structural Technician

Reports To: Shop Supervisor

General Job Description: Repairs, overhauls and modifies aircraft structural parts/components to return these to an airworthiness condition. Technician will work the job from all aspects, to include but not limited to: disassembly, paint removal, fabrication of skins and other structural parts, assembly, and preparation and application of paint.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Diassemble and clean all incoming parts to allow for a complete inspection of all parts. Follow all technical data supplied and replace all worn/damaged parts with new. Provide a precise parts list needed to complete all required work/repairs. Fabricate and bond parts as needed by the use of sheetmetal shears, brakes and other shop tools. Fabricate and bond new skins on panels and flight control surfaces. Proper and complete documentation of all work performed must be maintained at all times.

Other Duties / Responsibilities: Fiberglass repairs, painting, application of approved finishes as desired by customer. Application of different types of adhesive and approved structural sealants and aerodynamic fillers.

Job Qualifications / Required Skills: Airframe license preferred with at least one year of sheetmetal experience. Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screenings. Must have own tools to include, but is not limited to, basic hand tools, pneumatic drills, pneumatic die grinders, pneumatic angle grinders, rivet gun, bucking bars, sheetmetal snips, files etc. Must be able to take direction and work with others in a team atmosphere. Must have some knowledge of aircraft fasterners / hardware. Need to be able to read and follow technical manuals and be able to read and understand manufacturer drawings.
